It’s hard to complain when a giant a rabbit drops off unsolicited baskets full of candy at your doorstep. After all, one should never balk at free chocolate.

However, if the bunny is skipping your house on Easter (April 5) this year—no questions asked—and you’re stuck making your own Easter basket, you might as well go the extra mile and improve the goods inside.

To that end, we’ve compiled a few options for improving the selection beyond the traditional assortment of Cadbury crème eggs, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (the ones reshaped as eggs for the season) and waxy Easter bunnies best left in their packaging.

One caveat: There’s no improvement on Cadbury’s Mini Eggs or Marshmallow Peeps. Don’t even try.
