The Teen Choice Awards announced their first wave of nominees, and it includes some real head-scratchers.
In the film categories, Furious 7, Insurgent and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1 lead the nominations and seem pretty on-point for movies teenagers likely went to see (or at least were the target audience for).
Inexplicably, nominations were also garnered box office and critical flops Aloha and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 in the Choice Comedy: Best Movie category and Tomorrowland in the Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy category.
Could the star power behind those flicks be the reason why? We’ll never know, but the only way to get George Clooney to show up at your awards ceremony is to nominate him, after all.
