If you produce a television show that you’re looking to get renewed, it can’t hurt to have someone with 19.5 million Twitter followers tweet your praises.
So when Miley Cyrus tweeted her support of the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, and the show got renewed shortly after, many jumped to the (quite possibly true) conclusion that it was due to the singer publicly geeking out over the show.

Grace and Frankie premiered on Netflix earlier this month; in it, the show’s main characters, played by Fonda and Tomlin, find out that their husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) have fallen in love with each other and are leaving them to be together.
So, perhaps the show’s success is also due to an interesting and unique premise, and a cast of legendary actors who appeal to an older audience who may not feel as much representation as they used to on either network or cable TV.
